The Faiza Alaraji Foundation

Non-Profit Dedicated to Integrating new comers to Canada

A wide range of services

The Faiza Alaraji foundation is a registered non-profit, We provide services to the community.
It all started when a group of first-generation immigrants to Canada who
had experienced the struggles of starting a new life in Canada decided to come
together to make it easier on newcomer families to settle and better integrate
into Canadian society, all started in 2018
The Faiza Alaraji Foundation was created in 2022, to formalize these volunteer
activities into a reliable and sustainable social service provider. The services were
initially focused to serve those in the National Capital region with the intention to
grow nationally.

MISSION

The mission of the Faiza Foundation is to empower newcomer women in Ottawa through education, poverty reduction, and community development initiatives.

We support women with limited income and educational opportunities by providing ESL education, academic guidance, skills training, and entrepreneurship support. Through practical tools, knowledge, and ongoing guidance, we help women achieve economic independence, strengthen their families, and become active, positive contributors within their communities.

VISION

A strong, inclusive community where newcomer women are educated, economically independent, and actively contributing to the well-being of their families and neighbourhoods.

MANDATE

– Education Mandate

The Faiza Foundation supports newcomer mothers in Ottawa by removing educational and language barriers and empowering them to build a stable future for themselves and their children.

Through our Education Program, we provide practical, culturally sensitive support to women with limited formal education to help them confidently navigate the Canadian education system.

– Poverty Reduction Mandate

The Faiza Foundation reduces poverty among newcomer women in Ottawa by empowering them with practical skills, entrepreneurship training, and business support that lead to sustainable income and economic independence.

We believe poverty is not only a lack of income, but a lack of access, skills, confidence, and opportunity. Our approach focuses on transforming vulnerable women into active, productive members of their community.

– Community Development Mandate

The Faiza Foundation promotes community development by empowering newcomer women to become active, skilled, and productive contributors to their families and neighbourhoods.

We believe that strong communities begin with empowered women. By supporting women to overcome poverty and educational barriers, we help create positive change that spreads beyond the individual to families, neighbours, and the wider community.

Referral and Support Services

Faiza Foundation supports newcomer families by connecting them with trusted legal, psychological, and financial service providers when needed. We assess family needs and provide appropriate referrals to ensure holistic support and successful settlement in Canada.

Children and Youth Activities

In previous years, Faiza Foundation organized educational and recreational activities for children, including coding classes, STEM workshops, and interactive puppet shows. These activities aimed to enhance learning, creativity, and social engagement among newcomer children.
